Founded in 1991, RARE Aircraft Ltd is a family owned and operated aviation company dedicated to the restoration of Antique Aircraft.

The core of RARE Aircraft's business is high quality award winning restorations. Our track record dates back to the "Four Time Grand Champ" Stinson Reliant of 1982 (Sport Aviation, November 1982). In fact, every restoration we've shown has won a national award.

RARE Aircraft Ltd. occupies a 25,000 square foot facility on Faribault, MN airport (FBL) 45 miles south of Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport...a 47 minute freeway drive. We have a wood department that routinely builds complete wing sets and is the most experienced Taperwing shop in the country. Our welding department handles everything from complete fuselage fabrication to fuel and oil tanks, as well as small parts fabrication and repair. We also have full sheet metal and machine shop equipment and capabilities. And, of course, our trademark Grand Champion quality fabric and paint work. We are very proud of our staff, our skills and our facility.
